outbreak-coronavirus-china-2019

CDC is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (termed CoVid-2019) that was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China and which continues to expand. Chinese health officials have reported hundreds of infections with CoVid-2019 in China, including outside of Hubei Province. A number of countries, including the United States, have been actively screening incoming travelers from Wuhan and human infections with CoVid-2019 have been confirmed in other regions of the world. The United States announced their first infection with CoVid-2019 detected in a traveler returning from Wuhan on January 21, 2020.

Illinois Department of Public Health has established a hotline for CoVid-2019 questions: Dial 1-800-889-3931 or email dph.sick@illinois.gov to have all of your Coronavirus questions answered.
