Prediabetes means your blood glucose (sugar) is higher than normal, but not yet diabetes. Type 2 diabetes can be delayed or prevented in people with prediabetes through effective lifestyle programs.

The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a proven program that can help you make modest lifestyle changes and cut your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more than half. The National Diabetes Prevention Program is a CDC-approved curriculum highlighted in this short video. 

Participants learn skills to lose weight, increase physical activity, and manage stress. This program Is a one-year-long commitment.  Lifestyle change takes time and requires support to be successful.
